Livermore Valley
Lifestyle
Welcome home to Livermore,
Pleasanton and Dublin where all the urban amenities
exist within our relaxed lifestyle. Vineyards and
golden hillsides provide the scenery surrounding our
town. Enjoy trips to the mountains or the less than
an hour drive to San Francisco. Our community spirit
is obvious everywhere you go.
The Livermore Valley is located in the Tri-Valley
region east of San Francisco. Interstates 580 and
680 provide easy access to both the Livermore Valley
and San Francisco Bay metropolitan area.
Livermore Municipal Airport is a 10 -15 minute drive
to the intersection of Interstate 580 and 680. The
airport serves Livermore's business parks, Bishop
Ranch and Hacienda Business Park. The Airport is a
General Aviation Airport which serves private,
business, and corporate tenants and customers.
The hills surrounding the Livermore Valley look down
on twenty six Vineyards and Wineries where you can
enjoy sampling the wines in the tasting rooms. The
wineries help to maintain the rural feel of the
area.
Education is an important part of the Livermore
Valley Lifestyle. Livermore Valley Joint Unified
School District, Pleasanton Unified School District,
and Dublin Unified School District, offer
opportunities for academic achievement. For more
information on private K-8 schools and higher
education see our schools page.
When research is needed for the next school project,
Livermore Public Library, Pleasanton Library, and
the Dublin Library are the places to go.
The many parks and recreations departments provide
"play time" after school. (Livermore Area Recreation
and Park District, Pleasanton Parks and Community
Services, and the Dublin Parks and Community
Services) provide activities all the family can
enjoy.
Shopping
Downtown Livermore features numerous antique shops
and galleries and plenty of restaurants from which
to choose as does Downtown Pleasanton. In addition
to the many regional plazas, area residents flock to
the Stoneridge Mall at the intersection of 580 and
680. The mall is anchored by Nordstroms, Macy's, JC
Penny and Emporium.
Transportation
The Altamont Commuter Express, Bay Area Rapid
Transit (BART), Livermore Amador Valley Transit A
Authority (LAVTA) and the convenience of Highway 580
and 680 keep our area within easy commute to any
where in the Bay Area. To plan your commute or
leisure trip, go to The Bay Area Traffic Guide.
The Arts
Hometown cultural experiences in Livermore include
the Del Valle Fine Arts, Livermore Valley Opera,
Livermore-Amador Symphony, "Take 5 for Art" calendar
and the Valley Concert Chorale. Dublin offers Dublin
Fine Arts Foundation and Pleasanton has the Amador
Theater. Of course there are also the many venues
for arts, culture, and theater throughout the San
Francisco Bay area.
Health Care
Among the many providers of health care in our area,
Valley Health Care System and Kaiser Permanente
offer residents complete health care facilities.
First Responders
We are proud of our Livermore-Pleasanton Fire
Department -- The California League of Cities
awarded the consolidation effort the prestigious
Helen Putnam Award for Excellence. Annually the
League gives out awards in eleven categories and in
1999 the department was given the Grand Prize award
in the public safety category. The Dublin area's
fire protection is provided under the Alameda County
Fire Department.
The Livermore Police Department, The Pleasanton
Police Department and The Dublin Police Department
